In 1929, the year of the Universal Exposition in Barcelona, H.M. the king Alfonso XIII inaugurated the Royal Golf Club of Cerdanya. The Royal Golf Club is one of the only clubs in Spain with a more traditional field at national level.
The Hotel Chalet del Golf is united with the history of the Club. Build in 1948 to provide the golf course with residential installations to attract clients who loved golf, quickly became a meeting place for the Catalonian middle-upper class. Many personalities like S.M. the King Juan Carlos I, the King Humberto de Saboya, presidents of the Generalitat de Catalunya, and known international actors and actresses and other personalities stayed in the hotel, which has aided in forming part of the present history of the Chalet.
In 1970, Alberto Lucarini assumed the direction of the Chalet and quickly built a relationship with loyal guests with great care. The staff at Chalet was approachable and treat guests with warmth and respect. The way in which the Lucarini family treated guests formed part of the history of the Chalet and the members of the Royal Golf Club were quick to appreciate the service Alberto provided. The Lucarini family managed the hotel until a fire in 2001 destroyed the hotel entirely.
In 2003, the hotel was rebuilt by its owners and after the Lucarini Family undertook new business projects in Cerdanya, they came back on the 1st of June, 2011 to manage the Chalet again with two big advantages: the experience of Alberto Lucarini and the fresh ideas and style of his son, Sandro Lucarini.
With the Lucarini Family back, the hotel offers approachable, familiar, and warm service, which brings back the old spirit of the Chalet in a more modern, spacious and comfortable resort.
